Learning doesn't stop after school hours. That's why Nishinomiya International School offers enriching, English immersion after-school programs designed for children ages three through twelve years old. Children learn English naturally, rather than through drill and repetition, helping them to not only learn the language, but to also love it.
Young Afterschool is our program for children ages 3~4 or young children who have had no prior experience learning English. Core English language targets, such as basic greetings, colors, and numbers, are taught in tandem with monthly thematic lessons that are focused on introducing English in a natural manner using songs, games, crafts, and play .Beginning phonic studies and the acquisition of vocabulary for effective communication is key at this stage. Prewriting skills are also introduced.
Older Afterschool is our program for children ages 5~7 or those who have had some experience with learning English. Children this age are full of energy and excitement for the world around them. In this class, we try to focus that energy and create a fun, stimulating learning environment. Children are encouraged to express themselves using complete sentences. The children continue to study phonics and printing as they begin to decipher and read simple words.
Our Afterschool Plus+ program is our Saturday afterschool class with extended hours for children ages 3 to 6. This class follows our regular afterschool curriculum, but is held for four hours so that children can have a longer English immersion experience.
Elementary Afterschool is our program for children ages 7 and up. In this class, a relaxed English environment using games and role playing encourages the students to confidently express their thoughts and opinions in English. Children also study English phonics, reading, grammar, and are beginning to write key words and simple sentences.
Advanced Eementary Afterschool is our program for children ages 7 and up who have a good command of the basics of the English language. In this class, children practice conversation, advanced reading and grammar. Children are encouraged to form their own opinions and share it with others. Games and other fun activities are used as a motivation and to support natural language development.
